Well, if you're reading some gaming related news websites out there, you might have heard of a project by Microsoft by the name "Origami". It's rumored to be a PSP'esque mobile entertainment platform with multimedia content, games and all that stuff. Honestly, rumors like that were flying around for ages that MS would finally try to get into the portable gaming biz with a portable Xbox. Some of these rumors say, that it's got a touchscreen, high-res ... basically a TabletPC, but a little bit more portable with gaming controls. Not to forget GPS support.

Getting Jerome's Keywords plugin to work with edgeio
edgeio uses the RSS/Atom/RSS2 feed of your weblog to search for new listings, but since it currently just takes one and not necessarily the Atom feed your new items might not be recognized by the edgeio parser. The solution to this is actually quite simple:

Round 3: Final Preparations
A few days ago I've finished the 2nd book of the previous round ("Worlds of Deep Space Nine: Cardassia and Andor"), which you can expect getting reviewed somewhen today or at least this week. I'm also somewhere around finishing the first third of the last book ("Daedalus") so I thought it would be time for doing the final preparations for the 3rd round of books in 2006.
The books you can expect getting reviewed in March will be
- "Daedalus' Children" by Dave Stern
- "Worlds of Star Trek Deep Space Nine: Trill and Bajor"
- "Worlds of Star Trek Deep Space Nine: The Dominion and Ferenginar"

TrackBack without ... LinkBack
Don't get me wrong: I like getting trackback'd. It's a truely Web2.0 way of commenting one someone's article. But I have one small rule for trackbacks here: If the article, doesn't link back to my site, I simply won't put it out of the moderation queue. Why? Because the trackback will actually give the linker a "point" by Google and Technorati (if there is no rel="nofollow") without doing the same for my side of the equation. So please: If you trackback one of my posts, please also link back to that article :)

Soul Calibur movie coming
... honestly, what was the last game-based movie, you actually enjoyed? Any no: Tomb Raider doesn't count, since it would basically ruin my point here *g*

PSP Enhanced
Seems like Sony is working on an enhanced PSP with a built-in gig of memory storage. What about games for a change? At least for me, the storage was never really a problem. Sure, you have to get those Memory Stick DUO whatever instead of just use the SD-Cards that are virtually in any other device with removable storage, but anyway. Now according to Kotaku they might even go with microdrives ... good idea considering that the PSP's battery replacement sails seem to be too low for Sony.

AJAX U.S.-patented?
Well, uhm.... link to that patent. I somehow miss the point there (seems to become a habit). On various websites this was called a patent for AJAX. If this is the case (sorry, but I have better things to do than to read that whole patent file), this might really get entertaining. For one: AJAX is for me more like a bunch of design patterns than really all-new technologies. And since do we patent design patterns? Another idea: That patent was file on February 9, 2001. Nice for Balthaser Online. Just bad that the core of AJAX, the XMLHttpRequest object was basically invented by Microsoft with Internet Explorer 5 for MS Windows, which was released in March 2000. So I guess, they don't mean the XMLHttpRequestion object.

Preparing for the next round
Damn, now I'm just half-way through the 2nd book of my previous order and now I already basically know, which books will make it into the next round:
- Peter David's "Missing in Action" (Star Trek: New Frontier)
- John Scalzi's "Old Man's War"
Yes, another non-StarTrek book. Today Cory Doctorow post something about Scalzi's new novel "The Ghost Brigades" on BoingBoing. Since I've never heard of that author before, I went to check out Cory's post his previous book "Old Man's War" and found it quite interesting, esp. since Cory describes it as
