When NetNewsWire 3.0 got released, one of the most prominent new features was the combined view which basically gives you a combination of the list and the detailed view ... think: Weblog ;-) Yesterday I finally gave it a try (normally being a fan of the classic view) and came out with some mixed feelings.

Django now with more Unicode
Yesterday Malcolm Tredinnick merged the so called unicode-branch of Django into the main branch and with this made all Unicode goodness available to those people sticking to the primary development tree of Django.

zerokspot v5 progress report
Work on the next iteration of this site is progressing quite well :) Thanks to the holidays I can finally invest a little bit more time into the site. In fact I already think about really pushing it out of the door this week.

Solving timezone issues with dateutil
During the last couple of days, one 3rd-party Python module made quite an impression on me: dateutil by Gustavo Niemeyer.
Dateutil is an extension to the datetime module that comes with the standard library in Python and offers for example some predefined Timzone classes (and factory functions) and also a way to easily generate a list of days that are between two specified dates.
