  • Yahoo!ification of Flickr continues

    Posted on Jan. 31, 2007 at 13:22 +0100 Tagged with ,

The new login boxSo Flickr has finally announced a deadline for their login-migration to the Yahoo!-ID system: 31st of March. While this announcement has definitely caused quite a lot of rumble in the Flickr community I fail to see why. First of all, the moment they got acquired by Yahoo! it was clear that something like this would happen (not could).

  • Star Wars: X-Wing - Rogue Squadron

    Posted on Jan. 23, 2007 at 22:38 +0100 Tagged with , , , , ,

Cover If you've read this blog before you might have noticed, that when it comes to SciFi I'm a Star Trek fan. I love the universe, I love the tech. But after reading all these Star Trek books for the last couple of years I somehow wanted to try something different. Then I remembered that there were also some books in the Star Wars universe taking place after the movies.

  • Finally some news about Cookbook

    Posted on Jan. 19, 2007 at 23:46 +0100 Tagged with , , ,

After quite some time Austin Sarner and Michael Yuan finally posted some updates on the development progress of Cookbook again. For those of you who've missed the MyDreamApp contest last year: Cookbook is ... well, a digital version of a cookbook with a slick MacOSX GUI and some nifty extra features Whatever the Wii is doing in Mockup 3 :-?

  • First impressions: Stikkit

    Posted on Jan. 19, 2007 at 10:31 +0100 Tagged with ,

The idea behind __Stikkit__ is actually brilliant: A simple PIM and planning tool using text parsing to set variables (like deadlines, affected contacts etc.). Just a short example:

Let's do a small meeting today

    share with Horst

This would create a new event for "today" and inform "Horst" about it by parsing your input on-the-fly using JavaScript, a process called marked with "Thinking...". This way you can also create todo elements, contacts and so on.

  • Hints: Disabling pathauto for nodes

    Posted on Jan. 16, 2007 at 21:46 +0100 Tagged with ,

As you might have noticed, I'm using pathauto here for the tag URLs. The problem is, though, that I really want to use pathauto only for the taxonomy and not also for the nodes :)

  • Drupal 5.0 released

Posted on Jan. 15, 2007 at 14:53 +0100 Tagged with

w00t! And now to the bad part of the whole matter: Bad timing ;-) I would love to update zerokspot.com ASAP but thanks to a quite tight schedule for the rest of January, it might take a little bit longer than I'd like it to.

  • Vox adding groups

    Posted on Jan. 13, 2007 at 01:29 +0100 Tagged with , ,

The first thing I thought when reading this announcement I thought: "Cool, group blogging :D". But then I saw the screenshot attached to this post and what I saw looked very much like a group on flickr and not really like a group blog. I guess something like this also wouldn't really fit to Vox.

  • Drupal 5 around the corner

Posted on Jan. 8, 2007 at 19:02 +0100 Tagged with

At least it seems this way according to this mail by Dries Buytaert. And even if there will be an RC3, I can't wait to update this site to Drupal 5 after all I've seen on gamerslog.com so far.

  • Performancing Metrics out of the business, what next?

    Posted on Jan. 6, 2007 at 23:11 +0100 Tagged with , , , ,

I have to admit, that Nick Wilson's post last night hit me quite hard and unprepared. I used Metrics basically exclusively for zerokspot since it was first released (last April IIRC). It won the race for me thanks to it's simplicity yet feature-richness.

Now it will be shut down on Wednesday and from what I've seen in the comments to the above post, there will be no way to export the already collected statistics. Too bad.

Posted on Jan. 5, 2007 at 09:40 +0100 Tagged with

Update time again :-) The Drupal team released version 4.7.5 and 4.6.11 of their CMS while I was asleep. Both are security fixes, so it's highly recommended to update ASAP.
