  • Updating an outdated 23hq story ...

There's been quite some time since I last posted about 23hq.com, the Danish alternative to Flickr. And since my previous article is now partially outdated (and Steffen Tiedemann Christensen from 23hq contacted me to inform me about the new features) I think it's time to roll out a small addendum to that article :)

  • YouREP.com - A first look

    Posted on Aug. 8, 2006 at 22:09 +0200 Tagged with , , , , ,

Florian Cervenka from yourep.com contacted me a couple of days ago and informed me about his new Flickr alternative. Since it is still in Alpha state or just getting Beta, it's really hard to compare it to long standing sites like Flickr or 23, so ... I simply will try not to compare them at all but but instead state what I like so far about yourep.com and what I don't like (sorry Florian, but you asked for that ;)).

  • 23hq.com - A Flickr alternative?

    Posted on Sept. 14, 2005 at 01:51 +0200 Tagged with ,

Since Yahoo! announced that the old Flickr accounts will be merged with Yahoo! IDs somewhen in 2006 many people started thinking about moving away from Flickr to some true community alteratives. I'm still very happy with Flickr but I also started looking around the net for alternatives and found 23hq.com which on the first sight looks like a Flickr lite clone. It has:

    • Tags
    • A short registration form
    • A simple privacy policy ("No spam")
    • A calendar
    • Albums
    • Private and public photos
    • Subscribing to other people's photo sets
