In the last days I played around with the thought of giving Ubuntu a try on my laptop (Acer TM803). Why? Reiser4 (not tweaked) doesn't worked out as I had anticipated on this machine so I wanted to reformated my main partition again and I also wanted to work with a binary distribution once again after about 1.5 years of Gentoo ;-)

Linux 2.6.10
Ok, seems like Linux 2.6.10 has been released yesterday. To bad there is no MM-patchset for this release out yet otherwise I could update (Reiser4 partitions ;-) ). After having problems with the keyboard drivers in the release candidates on multiple machines I'm really curious if they work in the final release WITH all ACPI options enabled ;-)

WebSMS bei One.at jetzt abgespeckt
Scheint so, als hätte One ihr Onlineangebot entsprechend dem Werbeslogan des Konkurrenten Telering jetzt abgespeckt. Zumindest was das WebSMS-Service angeht, fehlt mir da schon einiges im Vergleich zum Angebot von vor einem Monat. Zum Einen muss man jetzt für die SMS (auch als Vertragskunde) zahlen und zum Anderen wurden scheinbar auch so nette Zusatzfeatures wie das Telefonbuch einfach ohne Ankündigung entfernt.

Amazon-Geschenke mit Verspätung
Nachdem ich hier gelesen hatte, dass Amazon scheinbar ein paar Probleme hat, Bestellungen bis zum Weihnachtsfest abzuschicken, habe ich zuerst ein bisschen Angst bekommen. Dennoch habe ich mich dazu entschlossen, einen Teil meiner Geschenke diesmal eben über Amazon zu beziehen, da ich bis jetzt ausschließlich gute Erfahrungen mit dem Laden gemacht habe.
