  • Some luck

    On our weekly shopping tour where I wanted to get at least one game anyway something quite funny happend. While having a quite intense eye-contact with the PS2-version of Prince of Persia I noticed Beyond good and evil lying right next to it. When I first saw the price I thought "Can't be" and checked it again... 29.90EUR :D

    Ok, now I will have something for the last days of my winter vacations :D It's quite a funny game but some things start to get on my nerves... or one thing but this quite intense: The german synchronization. The whole story is IMO very interesting and all of that, but somehow whoever made the synchronization must have been veeeery bored. Besides that the game is really well done. Nice story, nice gameplay and very short loading-times. Overall I think I will have a nice time.

  • Webcomics addict?

    Thanks to my illness during the last couple of days I had enough time to read the episodes of PvP I missed during the last year ... let's say 75% or the strips. It tooks me about 2 days and then ... I had nothing to read anymore :-( And as pennyarcade was also down back then I noticed something that I probably wouldn't have noticed without these two facts: I'm perhaps a webcomic-addict *g* I mean, one of the first things I do in the morning right after getting out of my bed is to check if there's a new PvP-strip online. I somehow just love those fights between Skull and Brent. Perhaps I should really order a T-shirt ....

  • Bad Luck :-?

    I must be definitely on a list of someone out there with the power to destroy all my hardware ;-) About a month ago my primary harddrive died thanks to enough bad blocks to make it look like cheese. And now, right when I thought "Ey, perhaps I could really buy that nice little MP3/CD portable player from Panasonic", my CD-burner has to die too :-(

  • Sony D-NE 1

    As the title already indicates I haven't baught Panasonic's CDDA/MP3-Portable but one by Sony. I won't go into much detail here because I really like Panasonic, but a little bit more and faster support for european customers would be really nice ;-)

    But now to the D-NE1: Really a nice player. It comes with a docking station , 2 rechargeable batteries, a remote control with display, a small bag and earphones. On some webpages I saw pictures of it with some really old- and cheap-looking headphones but Sony seems to have read some product reviews and/or customer feedback and replaced them (I haven't tested them not yet though as I already have Sony earphones with bass-booster ;-) )

  • Gallery with new simplified design

    Well, nothing really new but I gave it an hour and now the gallery has a simplified design and also some bugs should be fixed now. I've also made this blog the new startpage of zerokspot.com simply because this is the part of the page where I do most things ;-)

  • Some changes :-)

    As you've perhaps already noticed there are some new things on zerokspot.com. For example the slightly altered design (with the blue gradient in the main menu) and some small things like a games-collection listing or a listing of university courses I attend/attended. There I will probably also release some homeworks and things like that if someone needs them :-)

  • Gnome 2.6.0 w00t

    Yesterday 23:35 GMT+1

    The source packages appear on ftp.gnome.org and ... yeah, lftp is really a nice tool ;-)

    Today 06:30 GMT+1

    Right after getting up I notice that there is now an ebuild (rc5) for Gnome 2.6 available in the Gentoo Portage, extremely masked but anyway.

    Today 07:45 GMT+1

    ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~x86 emerge -U /usr/portage/gnome-base/gnome/gnome-2.6.0_rc5.ebuild on my laptop

    Today 15:00 GMT+1

    startx ... w00t ;-)

    After some customizing I really like Gnome 2.6.0, although it will definitely take me some time to get used to the spacial nautilus (yeah, I know that I can switch it off, but I basically like the idea, although it isn't new at all ;-) ) At least for me the whole Gnome desktop now seems to be more constant in its look&feel compared to 2.4 ... perhaps I will write a small review or something like that.

  • Articles -> Documents

    For the last couple of days I tought about a way, how I could make it easier for me to write articles and things like that while still having the possibility to change their format. First I thought about writing them in LaTeX but most of the articles will probably be about software topics and things like that and importing program code into a LaTeX document isn't really that funny :-?

  • Megatokyo.com

    Thanks to a post on phpBB.com I found that great online comic this morning. After popping out of PvPonline for a month (or so) now I was once again interested in some webcomics so I gave this one a try. And my impression after 12 hours? I love it :-)
