  • @Sony Customer Support: Reading mails is hard ...

    Posted on Nov. 27, 2007 at 14:35 +0100 Tagged with , ,

Remember when I wrote a couple of days ago about the PSP Store being Windows-only? I was actually mad enough to contact Sony's customer support on this issue asking if there were any plans to offer a MacOSX-client.

Did you ever have a game that you stowed away years ago and suddenly start to to play again? Even more enthusiastically than the first time around? This fate seems to have had WipEout Pure for the PSP with me.

  • No PSP Store for Mac users

    Posted on Nov. 22, 2007 at 00:20 +0100 Tagged with ,

... or anyone who doesn't use Windows for that matter. Currently the whole download software is only available for Windows and Sony completely fails to tell you that before you start probably the most lengthy and complicated registration process I've seen in my whole life.

I'm just wondering why. Under yourpsp.com/at/de/whatever you already could download demos and there also was a shopping system in place. So why move everything over to a completely different infrastructure that even looks some of your customers out?! Summary: The current state of the PSP Store looks like a stupid idea.

  • Metal Gear AC!D 2

    Posted on Sept. 18, 2007 at 23:08 +0200 Tagged with , ,

About 2 years ago I got man hands on Meta Gear AC!D, a card-based strategy game for the PSP set in the Metal Gear universe. While heavily criticized by nearly every review crew on the planet, I still really enjoyed it and it was one of the few titles I really found the motivation to finish. On my trip to the Czech Republic and Germany I took the successor to this game with me ...

Yet another firmware version for the PSP, but this time there is even something useful in there and not just another hit at people who just want to have some additional software on their little black box ;-) [via Kotaku]

  • PSP Platinum games in Klagenfurt

    Posted on Aug. 7, 2006 at 13:24 +0200 Tagged with , , ,

Getting one of these new Platinum PSP games (like Ridge Racer, Everybody's Golf etc.) really seems to be more complicated that I first thought. For the last 2 weeks or so I went from store to store just to find the old full-priced copies. Not a single Platinum game for the PSP in sight.

Today I went to one of my favorite stores to look first of all for a new mouse but also checked their games. No Platinum games for the PSP their, either. Since I know some of their staff there, I went to ask them about that. After some searching we both discovered, that appearantly budget games are not ordered automatically, only the full-price games. Since none of the local stores have Platinum games by now, this seems to be a common practice.

  • Small things (2008-08-02)

    Posted on Aug. 3, 2006 at 23:19 +0200 Tagged with , , , , , , , , ,

First I wanted to write a quite lengthy article how I liked IGN's podcast about the end of E3 and esp. Kathleen Sanders question about what will now get covered by "smaller sites" (compared to IGN, 1up, GameSpot).

225 words later I noticed, that I was talking rubbish and deleted that draft ;) So all you'll get today is just another post containing smaller things I had on my mind.

Well, 2nd (as I already mentioned the IGN podcast) I want to mention my new Vox blog which I will use probably nearly exclusively for Vox's Questions of the Day. I like it there so far, although it is, from a blog-tech standpoint a little bit minimalistic. There is RSS but there is no trackback/pingback/searchback/*back.

  • LocoRoco - Review

    Posted on Aug. 2, 2006 at 14:13 +0200 Tagged with , , ,

LocoRoco CovershotIf you want to have something for your PSP that isn't more or less just a port of an already existing PS2 franchise you will probably know the name "LocoRoco" by know. This game is in its core more or less a very classic jump'n run. More or less, because your character doesn't really jump. Instead you're controlling the planet you're on. Rotate it to the right so that your character rolls to the right, rotate to the left, to let your character roll to the left. Jumping is done via earthquakes.

  • First look at Field Commander

    Posted on July 27, 2006 at 22:04 +0200 Tagged with , ,

This Monday I once again was in that dangerous phase where you shouldn't let me near online shops. But since no one was there to hold me back, I bought another game for the PSP: Field Commander. Field Commander was actually one of those games why I wasn't all that upset when I got my PSP and noticed, that besides Wipeout Pure there weren't any interesting games out there. But many, many months and at least 2 delays later, I nearly forgot that game until I saw articles about it all over the gaming sites like 1up and IGN.
