  • Morgen Photowalk in Wien

    DSC_0652.JPGMorgen in der Früh geht's ab Richtung Wien zum ersten Photowalk in der Bundeshauptstadt. Treffpunkt ist um 14:00 beim Schottenring - Straßenbahnhaltestelle 31 und das Thema ist frei. Jetzt bleibt nur noch zu hoffen, dass das Wetter durchhält und dass viele Leute kommen :D

    Also wer noch interessiert ist, Details gibts auf Roberts Weblog.

    Ausrüstungsmässig war ich wie immer zu faul, mir ein Stativ zu kaufen, aber vielleicht ergibt sich ja etwas in Wien. Dank nomenestomen habe ich zumindest schon mal eins im Auge. Wenn mir dann noch ein entsprechendes Geschäft über den Weg läuft, kann ich mich ja vielleicht doch einmal nicht beherrschen. Ansonsten wird halt wie schon in Dresden mein Rucksack als Stativ herhalten müssen.

    Falls noch wer mit dem Zug aus dem Süden kommt, ich sitze vermutlich irgendwo im 6:48 Zug von Klagenfurt aus. Vielleicht läuft man sich ja über den Weg :-)

  • My little BlogTalk round up of the 2nd day

    If you haven't read anything from me since Monday afternoon this is because I'm currently in some kind of recovery mode. On Saturday and Sunday I was playing probably way too much Starcraft with 2 friends of mine. I even dreamed about stupid Protoss searching for me and blasting my luggage if I wasn't cautious ... no, video games are not dangerous. They can just keep you from sleeping all night ;-)

    Then on Monday came the BlogTalk Reloaded and the ... let's call it a mid-show party ;-) Too much beer and The hotel being on the other side of Vienna shortened the night once again. It was actually funny seeing people coming in late and still sleeping the next morning to the conf. But no critique here: I was on time but not really awake either ;-) I guess I will still try to write a small round up of the 2nd day of the BlogTalk:

  • BlogTalk trip: Day 3 - First day of the BT - Liveblogging pt.1

    First day of the BT also means first night and first breakfast in the hotel. First of all, a small tip if you also plan to stay in the Hotel ETAP in Vienna and are only there by subway: U3 heading Simmering and get off the subway at the "Erdberg" station. Inside the station head towards the Franzosengraben exit and then take the Erdbergstraße exit. Then walk to the next crossroad, go right there and you will see the hotel on the other side of the street in about 200m.

    Another note: It takes about 30 minutes from the hotel to the TechGate, so better plan with it ;)

    I also just bought a T-Mobile 24h WiFi pass ... just to note 10 minutes later, that there is a free WiFi access in the BlogTalk's conference room. This also means one thing: Liveblogging *g*

  • BlogTalk 2006: Day 1 (pt.1) - Trip to Vienna

    Long trips definitely suck, esp. when you're making them alone. Exactly for these occasions I absolutely love the battery in my little PowerBook 12": Nearly 4 hours if I treat it nicely and so I normally also take something to read with me on the trip ... on my Mac ;)

    Well, OK, in my train there were enough plugs in each area, so I could have also brightened the whole thing up and done some more compiling, but I guess esp. the latter on would have burned my Jeans.

  • Preparing for BlogTalk Reloaded

    • Train tickets? Check
    • Hotel reservation? Check
    • BlogTalk reservation? Check

    ... OK, I guess I have everything now. And since the train ride will take about 4 hours, I will also charge my iPod. Just to be on the safe side :) I just hope that the Wifi in the TechGate won't suck. For 18EUR for 24h shared 11MBps you should normally be able to expect something but T-Mobile doesn't even offer information on what crypto is used.
