Well, after about 30 hours of Burnout 3 I think it's now time to give a short review about this game :-)

Smaller Xbox2 for Japan
As has been reported by Gamespot.com Microsoft is planning to release a slimmed down version of the Xbox2 for the Japanese market. While I think it's a nice move, I somehow fail to see the need for two versions of the console. I mean, remember the release of the Xbox and esp. its old bulky controller. Nearly everyone was complaining about the size of the controller and also of the Xbox itself. Some months later MS released the smaller S-controller (which was previously released in Japan) in the USA and Europe and it was a huge success. They even stopped bundling the old controller with the Xbox package and included the S-controller from now on. So I can't really understand why MS doesn't want to release the smaller version of the Xbox 2 also in the USA and Europe.

Auf Wiedersehen McCountry
Also gestern war es nun soweit :-( Unser McDonalds in der Rosentalerstrasse hat nun keinen McCountry mehr. Somit geht ein schöner Abschnitt meines Lebens zu Ende. Nie wieder den guten Zwiebel-Burger essen und mich ständig fragen, was das nun wirklich in der Sauce war. Schon Tage vorher sind ihnen die Schachteln ausgegangen, weshalb wir dieses Meisterwerk der McKüche nur noch aus einem generischen Pappkarton genießen konnten. Auch eine fast schon verzweifelt klingende Mail (sofern eine Mail klingen kann ;-) ) an McD-ßsterreich hat nichts geholfen und nicht einmal jemanden dort zur bloßen Antwort animiert.

ETI geschafft :D
Normalerweise mach ich ja keine Posts über Noten usw. aber derweil bin ich einfach viel zu glücklich, um das für mich zu behalten :D Nachdem ich vor nem Jahr einfach zuviel Schiss hatte, zur VO-Klausur "Einführung in die theoretische Informatik" anzutreten, hab ich mich nun endlich vor 2 Wochen getraut... und es hat sich gelohnt :-) Durch und zwar noch mit nem 2er. Da frag ich mich zwar ein bisschen, obs nicht vielleicht doch besser gewesen wäre, schon damals anzutreten, aber andererseits ist mir das jetzt ziemlich Wurst ;-)

"Web Tutorials" by Peter L. Kantor
Well, you perhaps know this problem: Someone asking you some basic questions about HTML or things like that and you don't simply want to give him/her a simple answer but also perhaps a good site where he/she can look for more details on that problem/topic. Sure, you don't want to send this perhaps just to the w3c-specifications but where else? w3schools? IMO w3schools offers some really nice tutorials but at least for me they are not really good structured and also quite confusing. In german there is a project called SelfHTML which should answer nearly all questions that could come up with HTML, CSS or JavaScript but until yesterday I failed to find a comparable site in english.

New banner component
In the last couple of days I felt like playing around a little bit with the layout of zerokspot.com but somehow nothing really looked right. Today, I looked at the layout and .... well, somehow I still like it much better than whatever layout thingy I did (I don't dare to call it "created" :P ) in the last days.

Well, I thought I'd need XML schema in future projects (and perhaps also in current ones and for work) I ordered this book last friday and it finally arrived this morning :-) Let's see how long it will take me to finish it, but the book (at least what I read until now) is really nice. Within its more than 400 pages there is certainly enough to learn for me about XSD. The first 30 pages included probably around 80% of what I knew about XML schema until today ;-) -
