Here you can find notes about things I discover or learn but are not (yet) worth a full-length post.

Linking to Großrazzia gegen Muslimbruderschaft (orf.at…)
There were multiple police raids in Austria today against Muslim Brotherhood. Somehow former interior minister Herbert Kickl had knowledge about these before they happened and actually leaked some information about them putting them in relation with the attack in Vienna last Monday. Turns out, that relation didn’t exist. There are now investigations going on about how Kickl was able to learn about these raids.

In other words, it’s not just lying to the pollster we have to worry about here; it’s also people lying to themselves.
Yesterday we rod to IKEA to buy some boxes. Just before exiting the building again I noticed that I had forgotten to turn of my bike’s lights. When we got back to our bikes and my lights were off I was pretty sure they had run out of battery.
Turns out, someone had walked by, noticed the lights and turned them off for me! Such a small gesture but it saved me from having to drive home in the dark! Thank you!

Like of Don’t be surprised that Quibi failed (om.co…)
Let me put this in the kindest terms: Quibi was trying to solve a problem that no one had — and certainly weren’t going to pay $5-a-month to address.
As so often, Om Malik is spot on. I was actually surprised that Quibi managed to get as many subscribers as it did (400,000 - 500,000 according to the post) since its launch this April.
