Like of On Running a Mastodon Instance (rixx.de…)
Awesome post by Rixx, one of the two admins of https://chaos.social, about running a Mastodon instance with thousands of users and his experience with the social aspects around that.
Here you can find notes about things I discover or learn but are not (yet) worth a full-length post.

Like of Mela - Recipe Manager (mela.recipes…)
Mela looks like a really nice app for iOS to collect cooking recipes. It’s by Silvio Rizzi who also developed my currently favorite RSS reader, so I’m slightly biased 😅
Like of Cryptomator 2.0 available for iOS (cryptomator.org…)
The new release finally integrates with the Files app, something that previously prevented me from using Cryptomator. They’ve also changed the pricing model, going with a free version that can only read encrypted vaults while the full version also offers write-access. € 11.99 for a lifetime account is fair but there are also some offers if you’ve purchased version 1.x in the past (either free or just €1.99 if you want to make a donation).
Like of Dracula met tmux (lazybear.io…)
Oh god, tmux also has a plugin manager?! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Everything has a plugin manager nowadays 🙄
Like of Working with multiple accounts on Github using SSH (lazybear.io…)
Nice tips for working with multiple accounts and SSH keys on Github. I also didn’t know about the output of ssh -T git@github.com
to determine which account would be used 😍
Like of "Open Source" is Broken (christine.website…)
… or at least the funding part, and the feedback part,… and probably more. Nothing new but still depressing and frustrating 😞

When you lead a whole country into a total mess like Brexit and then stumble over your quiz master role at a Christmas party … that was not supposed to have happened. This is so Boris Johnson…
Like of Simple Time Management (bulletjournal.com…)
This post presents a simple system for managing your attention by splitting tasks into 4 categories: quick & easy, cleaning, lengthy/difficult, and finally fun tasks. You’d create a bundle of four tasks with one from each category and do that bundle more or less in one go.
IMO this sounds like a quite nice approach to get your self going and keep motivated 😀
Like of bradfitz/jndi: an irresponsibly bad logging library (github.com…)
For those of you who didn’t have the joy of fixing log4j issues and feel left out, this should be something for you (if you’re using Go): Brad Fitzpatrick released a little logger that also resolves JNDI URIs and sends out HTTP requests where not appropriate. Too soon, Brad, too soon 😅

Someone please check the temperature in hell. If they were not owned by Meta I might even consider getting back onto that platform once this “feature” has been launched! At this point, though, Instagram is probably the one user-facing product at Meta with some kind of growth, so that’s not going to happen anytime soon 🤪
