Nachdem Flickr vorgestern ein Block-Feature hinzugefügt hat, durch das man laut Beschreibung ungewünschte Mituser ignorieren kann, gibt es heute schon wieder etwas Neues :) Zusätzlich zur "Everyone's photos"-Seite gibt es jetzt eine neue Möglichkeit, um andere Perlen auf Flickr zu finden: Die "Explore"-Seite. Hier findet man gesammelt beliebte Photos, Sets und Gruppen und auch das beliebteste Photo von genau vor einem Jahr ;) Ausserdem kann man die beliebtesten Photos über einen Kalender ansteuern. Wirklich sehr nett :)

Prepaid-Karte für Nachwuchs-Xbox-Live-Spieler
Microsoft will jetzt laut futurezone anscheinend speziell jungen Spielern den Einstieg in die Welt von Xbox-Live erleichtern und bringt jetzt in Kooperation mit der Landesbank Berlin und VISA eine prepaid-Karte für Xbox-Live heraus. Ansich meiner Meinung nach eine Gute Idee, zumal ich von Prepaid-Systemen zwecks Kostenkontrolle ziemlich viel halte. Hier frage ich mich jetzt allerdings, ob damit die Schwächen des Registrierungssystems wirklich gelöst werden. Ich vermute einmal, dass sich nichts an der doch ziemlich umständlichen Abmeldung ändern wird, falls man dann doch mal keine Lust mehr an Xbox Live hat.

English/German zeroKspot
If you are reading this weblog you've probably already noticed that my previous 2 posts were in german. Why? Quite simple: I'm currently not motivated to blog in english anymore. Nothing specific and without a real cause except that I'm simply not motivated anymore :) This doesn't mean that I won't continue blogging, it just means that this blog will probably see many more german posts in the near future. Given my (bad) experience with splitting my content into multiple blogs I want to keep everything in this one weblog and see how it turns out. I will probably not translate my german posts here as I won't translate my english posts to german. If I do so, I'll probably do this on a dedicated much more basic weblog which has only these translations as purpose and content. How, when and if I will do this depends only on my motivation and the time I will have in the near future :) This weblog will finally become a true mixed-language weblog ;)

Ideen für das Übersetzungsweblog
Derzeit überlege ich noch, wie genau ich das mit dem Übersetzungsweblog machen soll. Auf jeden Fall wird es dann hier zu jedem Beitrag einen Link zu der übersetzten Version geben, sofern eine existiert. Das andere Weblog wird vermutlich unter translations.zerokspot.com erreichbar sein, wobei ich noch nicht genau weiß, was für eine Software (wenn überhaupt) ich dafür verwenden werde. Irgendwie würde ich doch mal gerne ein bisschen mit TextPattern herumspielen ;)

Oder vielleicht doch wieder Wordpress
Ich habe heute mal Textpattern ausprobiert und bin ansich auch ziemlich weit gekommen :) Allerdings stellt sich natürlich auch die Frage nach der Wartung, wobei eine einheitliche Lösung sicher seine Vorteile hat... folglich kann ich es mir auch sehr gut vorstellen, auch für das ßbersetzungsweblog wieder auf Wordpress zu setzen. Allerdings, wer mich kennt (oder hier schon länger mitliest) weiß, dass ich bei solchen Entscheidungen ziemlich wankelmütig bin. Ich bin selbst ziemlich gespannt, was es dann am Schluss wird :)

First of all I want to say "Thank you" to Michael Arrington for speaking up and letting me know, that there are really some people reading my weblog :-) I hope it is at least partially usable and interesting :-) This also made me check my feedburner statistics and it said something about 15 circulations per day... Today Laurie Kawakami of the Wall Street Journal wrote a nice article basically describing how various online resellers handle user feedback or have implemented user review systems. The range goes from completely anonymous reviewing to e-mail based posting after purchasing a product on the client side and no moderation to automatic filtering with sometimes high rejection rates on the resellers side.

zeroKspot staying English and some changes
Ok, I think I will keep zeroKspot an english weblog. Period :) This said, I've also more or less removed the category system of this weblog and replaced it with jerome's keywords plugin for WordPress. It is simply easier for me this way :) I've also written a small cosmos site which is available here. Probably tomorrow I will be able to add a link to it somewhere ;)
