Notes

Here you can find notes about things I discover or learn but are not (yet) worth a full-length post.

Apple on Wednesday removed popular podcast player Pocket Casts from the App Store in China. According to the app’s developers, the removal of Pocket Casts was at the request of the country’s Cyberspace Administration, which determined that the app could be used to access content regarded as illegal in China.

Replying to Busy day ... kind of (lazybear.io…)

Apart from using Zoom, being in that kind of meetings is wrong. It’s everything but not productive. You got a lot of noise from mics not muted and you get people trying to speak simultaneously. I can’t even understand what some guys think : “Hey let’s put a maximum of employees there to nail that issue down!”

Any meeting beyond 15 people has to be moderated with raising hands etc. If you don’t do that the risk of chaos is just too high.

That being said: the mic discipline has improved quite a lot since everything started in March. By now most attendees of my university lectures and workshops know to join muted. WebEx not supporting push-to-talk doesn’t help, though.

Replying to Cafés (lazybear.io…)

Bars not but I’ve already visited a couple of my favorite restaurants again but only those who are spacious enough. The experience was good so far. The regulations and recommendations are also quite strictly controlled by various institutions.
