BlogTalk trip: Day 3 - First day of the BT - Liveblogging pt.1
First day of the BT also means first night and first breakfast in the hotel. First of all, a small tip if you also plan to stay in the Hotel ETAP in Vienna and are only there by subway: U3 heading Simmering and get off the subway at the "Erdberg" station. Inside the station head towards the Franzosengraben exit and then take the Erdbergstraße exit. Then walk to the next crossroad, go right there and you will see the hotel on the other side of the street in about 200m.
Another note: It takes about 30 minutes from the hotel to the TechGate, so better plan with it ;)
I also just bought a T-Mobile 24h WiFi pass ... just to note 10 minutes later, that there is a free WiFi access in the BlogTalk's conference room. This also means one thing: Liveblogging *g*

My little BlogTalk round up of the 2nd day
If you haven't read anything from me since Monday afternoon this is because I'm currently in some kind of recovery mode. On Saturday and Sunday I was playing probably way too much Starcraft with 2 friends of mine. I even dreamed about stupid Protoss searching for me and blasting my luggage if I wasn't cautious ... no, video games are not dangerous. They can just keep you from sleeping all night ;-)
Then on Monday came the BlogTalk Reloaded and the ... let's call it a mid-show party ;-)
Read more about "My little BlogTalk round up of the 2nd day" ...Too much beer andThe hotel being on the other side of Vienna shortened the night once again. It was actually funny seeing people coming in late and still sleeping the next morning to the conf. But no critique here: I was on time but not really awake either ;-) I guess I will still try to write a small round up of the 2nd day of the BlogTalk: -
Technorati's getting back to you ...
Something new from the Technorati front. This time there is a new newsletter called the "Technorati Buzz Monitor" which appears like a lightweight version of the Rojo newsletter on the news side but it also offers some hints on how to use Technorati. Nice. A little minimal on the news side, but nice :-)
The other new "feature" of Technorati is a (week-) daily video show presenting some of the hot topics of the day in a humorous way. Nothing new, but nice :-)
So to some things up: Nice
Just one small request about the video show: Could you please provide an RSS with the show as QuickTime or something like that?

OmniOutliner: The ultimate notepad for lectures
Read more about "OmniOutliner: The ultimate notepad for lectures" ...
OmniOutliner is more and more becoming one of my favorite tools on the Mac besides TextMate. Yesterday I used it more or less for the first time to take some notes in a course. Normally I would simply fire up TextMate and do all the notes in Markdown using headings and item lists. But since the presentation was very fast adding the "*"s and "###"s etc. proved to be way to slow for this. So I gave __OnmiOutliner__ a try and was finally able to keep up with the lecturer :)

jQuery 1.0.2 released
John Resig just released a new version of his JavaScript library/framework jQuery. This release (version 1.0.2) seems to be focused on cross-browser related problems.
jQuery is a light-weight JavaScript library which is in many parts similiar to the heavyweighters such as Prototype and aims to help developers with tasks such as dynamic style-changes, AJAX etc. In the recent months jQuery seems to have gained a lot of popularity in the Drupal world and is planned to be included in the next release of the CMS (5.0.0)

Disabling Trackback

Just a small note: I've just disable trackback for now (and probably for some time) because I'm simply not motivated to moderate the about 200 spam posts I get every single day. As a replacement I will add hopefully sometime this week a small section where all the links pointing to a post or the whole site will be listed (based on search results on Technorati and probably also google and yahoo).
