Thanks to Martin Pittenauer I now know that there will be a Blogtalk conference this year again. Well, this is nice, but the best part about it is: It's in Vienna ;) So if the ßBB or some people on my university don't have any strange idea I might even get there this time. Considering that this takes place only 2 days after the EuroOSCON will have ended in Brussels it will be quite an intersting start into winter semester this time.

Gaming meets Web2.0
... no, not gaming but more game reviews, but this title definitely sounds better ;) gibbity seems to be quite new (first post on the developers blog about it was somewhen in January) and appears with its ~200 members still quite small, but the idea at least is nice :) Not really innovative considering that every major gaming and shopping site has a way to review games. Also there are already at least another big web2.0 product review platform out there (Riffs) which doesn't focuses exclusively on games, but anyway.

Stupid day ...
Well, seems like my iAudio G3 finally died a painful dead. I honestly can't blame it after all it had to suffer in my pocket. What exactly died? The play-button ;) Seems like it's broken on the inside and I can't get the damn thing open because the screws are really well-fixated *g* Normally I'd love fix screws that don't let the case feel like falling apart on the first instance, but this time it really sucks ;) Anyway, since the button is probably really broken off on the inside and it's not really a garantue-case anymore, sending it back to Germany/South Korea wouldn't make all that much sense.

Apple's Boot Camp
Well, not we at least know, why there was no announcement on their 30th birthday ;) Given that this was on the 1st April no one would have believed it, but now it's a different story. It seems like Apple has released with Boot Camp the beta version of an official installation path for Windows XP on the new Intel-based Macs.

phpMyAdmin, frames and Safari
Just a note to people like myself who like multiple browsers and are looking for the slightest reason to jump to the other browser again: If you're using phpMyAdmin (one of the newer versions) and are annoyed by Safari seemingly not being able to open links from the sidebar in the main frame but instead opening a whole new window: Get a nightly WebKit built ;)

Making a long list short
I started this blog somewhen in November 2003 basically as a frontpage for my phpBB installation. Many months have come since then and I think there were only 3 of them that haven't seen a post here. So the list in the sidebar grew longer and longer and soon things like my recent flickr photos and my blogroll were only visible after hours of scrolling ;)

Dreamhost with some hickups this morning?
Seems like Dreamhost has currently some problems with their DNS setup which they also confirmed on their status page. So if you've written me a mail somewhen this morning, on my zerokspot.com addresses, please try again (or try horst.gutmann[at]gmail.com) if you haven't heard back from me yet :)

How to survive without a portable MP3-player?
Well, an option would be, to try it without music and podcasts until the new player has arrived. But since this would be quite a pain for me I thought I should give the PSP a try for this since it even comes with a small remote controll for exactly this purpose.

How to tell Safari to show the source in TextMate?
If you know Safari you also know it's source viewer and probably hate it as much as I do. No decent syntax highlighting, no nothing. But there is a solution for our pain :D Well, it's not really a completely integrated solution but Chris Biagini's AppleScript is still a great solution (although I always activate it when I don't really need it ;)). Thanks Chris for making my life much easier :D

NX Personal Server no longer free :-(
Today I wanted to log into my server graphically once again and somehow my NX installation didn't work anymore. Sincee I know myself a little bit I'm quite sure, that I simply messed some things up again. No big problem, simply re-emerging the nx server package should get the job done.
